Hi, I’m Wasif — and I’ve been obsessed with home decor for as long as I can remember.
I started The Homes Decors because I kept running into the same problem: every home decor website on the internet gives you a list. Maybe a photo. Maybe a one-line tip. And then nothing. No context. No real reason why a certain layout works, or why one color choice makes a room feel bigger while another makes it feel cramped.
That frustrated me enough to build something better.
I’ve spent years reading about design principles, color theory, and styling techniques — not as a trained designer, but as someone who genuinely finds it fascinating how small changes can completely transform the way a space feels. I’ve gone through design blogs, styling guides, product research, and real-home makeovers to understand what actually works, not just what looks good in a single photo.
What this site is actually for
The Homes Decors covers decor for every kind of need:
- Homeowners and renters looking for practical, budget-friendly ways to make a space feel more like them
- First-time decorators who want guidance without the overwhelm of too many options
- Small-space dwellers who need ideas that actually work in real rooms, not showroom photos
- Anyone planning a refresh — a single room, a rental, or a full home — who wants ideas that are doable, not just aspirational
What everyone on that list shares: they’ve been let down by shallow lists. They want to understand why a look works, not just see 400 photos in a row.
How I research and write
Every article I publish starts with a question I’d actually want answered myself.
For articles about specific styles, rooms, or techniques, I go to real sources: design references, product research, styling guides, and — where relevant — my own experience testing ideas in my own space.
I cross-check ideas across multiple sources because what works in theory doesn’t always work in a real room with real lighting, real budgets, and real furniture.
For lighter, more practical lists — quick decor swaps, budget hacks, small-space tricks — I still research the logic behind why certain choices work: proportion, color, lighting, and what actually makes a space feel intentional.
I’m one person. I write every article. I don’t publish anything I wouldn’t personally use in my own home.
A note on content tools
I use writing and research tools, including AI-assisted tools, to help with drafts, research, and organisation. Every article is reviewed, rewritten, and fact-checked by me before it goes live. The ideas, the judgement, and the editorial decisions are mine. I don’t publish first drafts from any tool without significant human review.
I’m telling you this because I think you deserve to know exactly how this site works.
What I’m building here
The Homes Decors is a growing resource. My goal is for every article on this site to be the most useful, practical, and genuinely helpful version of that topic on the internet not the longest, not the most keyword-stuffed, but the one you’d actually recommend to a friend who asked the same question.
If I got something wrong, I want to know. If there’s a room, style, or topic you’d love to see covered, I’d genuinely like to hear about it.
